About Kaanakidz

Kaanakidz is an independent guide to sensory toys, calming gear, and developmental tools for toddlers and preschoolers — including neurodivergent and special-needs kids.

Why we exist

Parents of sensory-seeking, autistic, and ADHD toddlers are told to “try a weighted blanket” or “get a fidget” with no guidance on which product, what size, or why. Most big-site guides stop at newborn gear. Independent specialists have the answers but write for professional journals, not parents in the middle of a rough Tuesday afternoon.

We built Kaanakidz to close that gap: specific, situational, honest guides written with input from parents, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and special-education teachers.

How we stay independent

• No paid placements. Brands do not pay us to be recommended. Ever.
• Transparent affiliate model. We earn commissions on some purchases through Amazon and other affiliate networks. This funds the work but does not influence which products we recommend.
• Real parent input. Every recommendation is checked against feedback from parents and specialists using the products in real households.
• Public methodology. Our testing methodology is published and updated.
